« Délaissant les rythmes rap latin / reggaeton de l’excellent album San Cristobal d’il y a trois ans, Boogat s’est tourné vers le sociofinancement pour produire ce goûteux mini-album, El Gato y Los Rumberos, de chansons rendant hommage aux grands orchestres de samba et de rumba du siècle dernier. Tout ici est acoustique et chanté plutôt, avec le mordant et l’énergie qui caractérise Boogat, surtout connu comme rappeur depuis le début de sa carrière. Voilà une proposition qu’on a envie de lier aux collaborations qu’il a faites avec l’orchestre de Roberto Lopez : percussions, piano et guitares sèches, gracieuseté des meilleurs musiciens de la scène latino montréalaise, le tout réalisé par l’Argentin Andrés Oddone.
