Prix Opus | Album of the Year in Quebec Traditional Music | Bon Débarras

Writer's picture: RésonancesRésonances

Le trio Bon Débarras was awarded the prize in the category Album of the Year in Quebec Traditional Music at the 25th Gala des Prix Opus on March 6th, 2022.

This new album highlights the foundations on which the folk-traditional music group Bon Débarras relies in its creative process:

Identity, geographical, linguistic, cultural landmarks, and especially those, human, that gave birth to collaborations in words (Joséphine Bacon, Gaston Miron, Simon Gauthier, Gilles Vigneault) and in music (Michel Faubert, Cédric Dind-Lavoie).

Interior landmarks, forged through encounters, travels, life experiences.

Landmarks that guide the group's music by anchoring it solidly in Quebec traditions, but that also tint it with a bit of elsewhere.

Landmarks where one takes refuge to come out with an energy and a movement irresistibly calling to dance.
