It was a full house—every ticket had been sold for months for the performances of 2par2 at the Festival TransAmériques (FTA). Excitement and anticipation were running high for the unveiling of this brand-new creation by Alexandra "Spicey" Landé and the company Ebnflōh.
The audience's response spoke for itself. Their reactions throughout the performance and the thunderous standing ovation at the end of the show made it clear that 2par2 had struck a chord.
Relationships, as a psychosocial phenomenon, lie at the heart of 2par2. Conceived as a landscape of dualities and polarities, the work is touching, funny, and intense, weaving together intimate and demanding storytelling. According to Le Devoir journalist Léa Villalba, the show features "highly groovy group sequences that practically induce ecstasy," while also revealing the personality and individuality of each performer, especially during the freestyle sections.
"Wow. Words fail me after seeing 2par2. Without a dobt, it was my favorite work of the FTA, perhaps even of the year." [translated]
-Léa Villalba, Le Devoir
2par2 is only at the beginning of its journey—and what a remarkable start it has been. The production will be touring in the months and years ahead.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the FTA for this meaningful opportunity. It was an intense and unforgettable experience.
