Maï(g)wenn et les orteils celebrates its 15th anniversary!

Updated: Nov 28

For 15 years now, Maïgwenn Desbois has been making her mark in the dance world thanks to her humane and professional approach to integrating neurodivergent artists. Her determination, professionalism and rigorous work ethic are undeniable. Maï(g)wenn et les Orteils, a pioneering company in its discipline, brings a fresh vision to the table through a beautiful combination of diverse artistic forms (music, song, dance, jig, film). It's an honor for Résonances to work alongside them, helping to change preconceived ideas about inclusive art, breaking down barriers and codes in the cultural milieu.

“Maïgwenn Desbois has made this relationship with difference and normality the mandate of her company, and strives for recognition not only of the talent, but also of the professional caliber of her performers. We'd even go so far as to say their right to exist as artists. “It's not a hobby. It's a profession they've chosen,” says one who's way ahead of most of us when it comes to perceptions...”

-Quand l’amour danse au pays des atypiques, L’éveil, March 28, 2019

Every year, the company reaches hundreds of people through its mediation workshops, including children through the program Une école montréalaise pour tous, which presents Écoute pour voir in the boroughs of the City of Montreal. We'd also like to mention our training program for our artists, designed to ensure their long-term professionalization in the artistic world.

We are delighted to continue this partnership with the broadcast of Les dauphins et les licornes, a colorful, eclectic and necessary work in our current context.

Happy 15th anniversary Maï(g)wenn et les Orteils !

Here's to another 15 years of extraordinary work !
