The solo work Mōnad by Alexandra 'Spicey' Landé, performed alongside DJ Jai Nitai Lotus, has been selected for the official showcase program of the Biennale CINARS 2026 taking place next fall. Alexandra “Spicey” Landé is the choreographer and artistic director of Ebnflōh.
Mōnad (from the Ancient Greek monas — “unity”) evokes the idea of a self-sufficient unicellular organism containing multiple universes within itself. A major figure in Quebec’s hip hop dance scene, Alexandra “Spicey” Landé embodies this Mōnad.
Inspired by this elemental substance and energized by the symbiotic relationship she maintains with dance and hip hop culture, Spicey welcomes forms and sounds that emerge and dissolve, adapt and transform through interaction. How can we approach the different incarnations of a single life? Mōnad offers a vibrant reflection on relationships within interconnected worlds while questioning the notion of eternity.
