The Montreal-based company PARTS+LABOUR, led by choreographers Emily Gualtieri and David Albert-Toth, will present the world premiere of its brand-new creation, LABOUR, in spring 2026.
Blending humour, endurance, and vulnerability, LABOUR transforms the body into a space of metamorphosis. Through simple yet unstable rhythms, the piece confronts the fragmented realities of our time and brings forward gestures of resistance, solidarity, and transformation.
LABOUR is a co-production of the CanDance Network Creation Fund, the National Arts Centre, Agora de la danse, La Rotonde, the dance: made in Canada festival, the PuSh Festival, New Works, and Rum för Dans.
World Premiere of LABOUR
Agora de la danse à Montréal
April 21–25, 2026
Followed by additional performances of LABOUR
National Arts Centre (NAC), Ottawa
April 29–30, 2026
Since 2011, Emily Gualtieri and David Albert-Toth have been developing, with Parts+Labour, a distinctive choreographic language that blurs the boundaries between structure and spontaneity, blending the personal, the poetic, and the political to create powerful and deeply human works.
The Dance team is very proud to support David and Emily in this new adventure.
