Like a trip to Utopia... gone off the rails! On stage, a child, neurotypical and neurodiverse dancers, all dressed in pastel. They divide the world into two playful and ridiculously arbitrary categories: dolphins on one side, unicorns on the other.
A sort of fascinating ritual ensues, like an attempt to create together, as a collective, a show that will be constantly disturbed by the frantic search for the other's gaze, for his or her approval. Sometimes, too, the performers allow themselves the luxury of being authentically themselves: welcoming one's flaws, one's fragility, turning over one's skin like a glove to observe the seams and protruding threads. This frantic back-and-forth between Self and Other places the dancers in a precarious equilibrium. And we, the spectators huddled in the shadows, are privileged witnesses to their beauty, humanity and monstrosity.
In Les Dauphins et les Licornes, we once again find the company's choreographic signature: contemporary dance, jigging, uninhibited speech, performative theatricality - all the languages needed to create a real dramaturgy of diversity. With this new opus, choreographer Maïgwenn Desbois lets her dancers guide her as she stages a great punk and kitsch ball, where rainbows are sometimes splattered with blood.
This show is offered in a relaxed, accessible mode, with the option of audio description and sign language translation. Cultural mediation activities, audience discussions and high school performances are also available.

Maï(g)wenn et les Orteils et Emmanuel Jouthe | Danse Carpe Diem présentent un nouveau volet d’ÉCOUTE POUR VOIR dansé par des interprètes professionnels vivant avec une déficience intellectuelle.
ÉCOUTE POUR VOIR propose une variété de solos, dispersés dans l’espace et dansés simultanément. Munis tous deux d’une paire d’écouteurs rattachés à un iPod, danseur et spectateur partagent une chorégraphie en tête à tête le temps d’une musique. À travers la sensibilité des artistes vivant en situation de handicap et de leur langage gestuel singulier, ce nouveau volet d’ÉCOUTE POUR VOIR est susceptible de provoquer des situations relationnelles peu communes. Dans cet espace d’intimité et de proximité, le spectateur interpelé par l’artiste vivant avec une déficience intellectuelle s’exposera à vivre une expérience artistique toute simple, et qui pourtant, sera susceptible de changer son regard sur l’être humain et ses capacités.
