Master percussionist, Senegalese born singer-songwriter and performer Élage Diouf settled in Canada in 1996, to pursue a musical career that is still growing today. He was known in the first place for his innumerable collaborations, such as with André "Dédé" Fortin and his band, les Colocs. As the co-writer for the song Tassez-vous de d'là, Élage Diouf received the SOCAN Echo prize.
His numerous other collaborations brought about his joining, as a featured performer, the world tour of the Cirque du Soleil's Delirium show, during which he takes part in more than 200 representations in the largest cities around the world and gains an unparalleled scenic experience.

In this new intimate performance, Élage Diouf invites you on a journey through his life story. Arriving in Québec in the mid-90s, he quickly became part of the artistic community in his new home, notably through his acclaimed collaboration with Dédé Fortin (Les Colocs), which helped shape the musical landscape of that era. The rich career of this Senegalese-born artist stems from the heart of a child who had rhythm in his veins and dreamed of becoming a professional percussionist—much to his parents’ dismay.
Known for his dynamic and dance-inspiring performances, Élage Diouf will not disappoint his audience. Beyond an intimate encounter with an artist whose path is both remarkable and inspiring, spectators will be transported on a musical journey from Dakar to Montréal, one that will undoubtedly make them want to dance. Accompanied on stage by two multi-instrumentalists, he will perform reimagined versions of songs from his early albums, along with several new, unreleased tracks.
Sprinkled with anecdotes about his life experiences and significant collaborations, Loubess—which means “What’s new?” in Wolof—promises a luminous encounter with one of the warmest and most unifying artists on the Québécois music scene.
