ON / OFF | Grand Poney
ON / OFF is a dance work designed for teenagers
and adults where a quatuor of dancers performs on
an unusual and wondrous machine: an oversized
treadmill.
On this rolling and confining surface, physical
movement is both restrained and ecstatic, exhilarated
and acrobatic. Together and alone, the performers
address themes such as identity, self fulfillment,
determination, coexistence, freedom, exhaustion and
the unending feelings and sensations that makeup
the complexity of life. The treadmill is a meeting place
where the characters seek to understand their place
in the world. Sometimes at the mercy, sometimes
in control of this intriguing, unpredictable and
mobilizing machine, they play with time and suspend
actions in space in order to dig out the details of
gestures, questions and interactions. The forever
forward moving device becomes a metaphor for the
passage from childhood to adulthood. It is the path
that we choose to travel and the life that we learn
to tame.

SUMMARY - SHARED BREATH
2023 | 40 min. | 4 dancers
Shared Breath is a moving reminder of our essential need to touch. Originally inspired by experiences of the global pandemic, the piece explores the internal states resulting from the isolation and absence of and the resulting renewed ability to transcend solitude and reconnect in new and unexpected ways.
Four dancers wear square skirt-like structures strapped to their waists, symbolizing the socially defined mould of their personal space. The figures twirl tirelessly within their constructions, like modern-day whirling dervishes, all the while adding dynamic, fluid curves to the straight, rigid lines. Defying distance and the absence of touch, striving to make contact contact, the characters finally free themselves, all with a common breath.
Created by an extraordinary artistic team, Shared Breath features the bold choreographic language of Roger Sinha and the original music composed and performed by Of Sound, Mind and Body, featuring Tim
Brady on electric guitar, Helmut Lipsky on violin, and Shawn Mativetsky on Indian tabla and percussion.

FRICTIONS | Les Archipels
Frictions is an In Situ parading performance that travels with the audience through a mesmerizing story of our social phobias through the language of percussive dance and jigs. Frictions is an emotional and touching contemporary jig evoking the relationships between dancers in relation to themselves and to the spectators.
Often funny, often cynical. Always epic.
IN-BEAUTY | Ebnflōh
In-Beauty questions the parameters of feminine gender through its choreographic language, anchored in Hip Hop. How do societal codes influence the image of women? What happens when these rules no longer apply, when we are motivated by an inner strength that overcomes the clichés attached to gender? With an urban furniture as a starting point, the 4 performers push their physical abilities and revisit the codes of street dance. Nourished by the different venues, the choreographer creates a space where the spectator is invited, in the proximity of the bodies, to experience the energy of street dance.
LA MARÉE NOIRE (Summer version)
Fleuve | Espace Danse
Inspired by the issues caused by an oil spill in the seas and on marine ecosystems, Chantal Caron revisits textures, forms and oppositions in this 30-minute show. The performance puts in symbiosis two marine goddesses captives of the Grande Marée Noire.
"A duo of dancers appears as part of nature: curious earthly doubles in original aqua-medusas. Undulatory movements, hands-fin waving, pulses and contractions of the bodies, sound breaths act like the inspiration of a breath or a wave. Participants are welcomed as a collective tribute to the surrounding nature in the expression of energetic movements.

4 Dancers
On the bangs of the urban frenzy, this deambulatory show invites the audience to follow a series of events that turn the lives of 4 individuals upside down.
Guided by a mobile sound system, the audience is led through a succession of 5 locations, each of which contains a chapter in this intimate drama.
Parking engages the spectator as witness, arousing emotion and provoking reflection on loss and our relationship with the present. At night, light panels illuminate the scenes.
